ATDHE.net



ATDHE.net was a domain registered on January 8th, 2008 and it is currently registered until January 8th, 2013.  The website was hosted by PRQ.se and according to the Whois information the domain is registered to Jeton Strellci.  It appears that the owner is based in Pristina (according to the current Whois information) which is a part of Kosovo.  The domain was confiscated by the US Government’s ICE division in early 2011. We are unsure what will happen to the domain name in the future, if the US government will hold it in perpetuity or if they will allow it to drop and can be reregistered by someone.

For the past few years, ATDHE.net was a place that many sports fans have come to know and love.  The site offered updated links daily to a wide array of different sporting events, from soccer to football, baseball, basketball, hockey, and more.  The site would be updated continually and if a stream went offline the site would usually within minutes have a link to a new live stream up on their site.  This turned this new site into one of the most well know sports streaming/linking sites in the world.

After the domain ATDHE.net was taken the site reappeared online at www.ATDHEnet.tv .  The site has undergone some changes that we have noticed though.  It appears that ATDHENET.tv is choosing not to link to NBA basketball games and it is not linking to MLB baseball games.  It is still linking to NHL hockey games and to soccer matches.  NFL football season is not here yet, but since ATDHENet.tv is not linking to NBA or NHL games, we would make the assumption that it will not link to NFL football games either.  It is curious that they still link to NHL games though.  It appears that they are trying to limit or cut their exposure to US based sports on their site.

ATDHENET.tv used to (and still does) link to US sitcoms such as “How I Met Your Mother”, “Two and a Half Men”, “The Simpsons”, “ESPN” and “ESPN2″, and some news sites such as “CNN”, “BBC World News”, “MSNBC”, and “Fox News”.

The .tv domain extension is for the country of Tuvalu.  The reason why ATDHE.net was taken is that the .net domain extension is maintained by a US based company.  The .tv domain extension is maintained outside the US and at this point in time it is believed that the US cannot confiscate domains based in other countries.
